Unit and Lesson Planning
| image from here |
So, unit plans are a must because teachers can't just wing it, they need to plan. To think about the content and objective(s), ensure it is aligned with the standards. To think about the flow, are the activities sequenced in a clear and logically manner? To think about the pacing, has enough time been allotted to allow students to really engage with the material? To think about a balance between teaching strategies and genuine activities that engage students and meet the needs of diverse learners. To think about the assessment to ensure they really show what students have learned.
I then took one of the units and expanded on it with a lot more details, including FIVE different lesson plans. What do you think?
Finally, I took one of the lesson plans and developed it further. I will implement the lesson during my clinical practice which is exiting and nerve-wrecking, all at the same time! Wish me luck.
